What is the power usage of the official Pi 7″ touchscreen in volts and amperage? I’m trying to calculate for a mobile power supply on a Pi 4B.

what research have you done? – jsotola 14 hours ago

Ah, let me see. It depends, but usually officially, very roughly 5V 50mA. : (1)raspberrypi.org/app/uploads/2019/04/RPI-PCN-Display_v.1-002.pdf (2) scancraftdisplay.se/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/… – tlfong01 10 hours ago

I’m not sure what your scale of “roughness” is, but I just found an article claiming that it uses “between 455mA and 470mA”: forums.pimoroni.com/t/official-7-raspberry-pi-touch-screen-faq/… – Galaxy 6 hours ago

Well, I said “very roughly” because the LCD panel spec says max supply current is 50mA. I also find forum posts saying 400mA, but NO ONE gives the spec of display. Some product “features” says about using an adapter of 2A. Some says a power adapter 400mA is required for the back lit. I think it is not reasonable to use 400mA for back lit. I need to check this out. It would be nice if some one can find a spec. – tlfong01 just now Edit
