This is why I use esp32 over the Pico, everyone uses Python with Pico. So lame!

3 days agoSweet. That’s going to open up so many opportunities with WiFi on board rather than needing to add it on.

3 days agoI think the only missing link now is a combined battery/solar unit to support these.

3 days agoHi! This is Klaus from Brazil. 🙂 This is good news. Thank you for the great summary! How about making a wireless ROS2 node with microROS running in it. Do you think it would work?

3 days ago (edited)bare metal on this chip is boss due to excellent documentation. poor docs were the killer for pi zero. trying out Rust with it to, a bit early but developed enough for the brave that do this in free time.REPLY

3 days agoGlad I got the one without it, never been a fan of wireless. Civilian side is bulky and easy to see with the right equipment, and too many people going around “hacking” into everything. lots of helpless fish in the sea, and many sharks ✌️🍀

20 hours agothere is NO comparison between Pico W vs ESP32. Bare ESP32 board is below 2$. Documentation? Have you seen tones of Espressif documents? Deep sleep current: ESP32 is between 4uA(legacy one) and 22uA (S2). Simply Raspberry Pico W is kind of 5 years too late on the market. But fun boys will always find RPi more attractive 😉REPLY
